Mentorship is personalized guidance with an experienced and knowledgable teacher who walks with you in your practice, giving you the support and advice you need to go to the next step.
Mindful Labs offers two kinds of Mentorship:
1-1 Personal Mentorship
Professional MBSR or MSC Teacher Mentorship
I had the privilege of first meeting Megan during the MBSR Teacher Training she was co-leading. Subsequently, she agreed to mentor me during my MBSR Certification process. Her expertise, warmth, and mentorship style makes her approachable and creates a learning environment where one can grow as a teacher and practitioner of mindfulness. I find her highly skilled at offering feedback while being supportive and encouraging. I cannot recommend Megan more highly.
I had taken several classes with Megan over the past few years so there was no question who I would choose as my mentor for my journey teaching MBSR. Her embodiment of wise compassion and honesty are a combination that completely resonates with me. I was able to be completely open with her in regards to how my MBSR teaching was going and this translated into a wealth of self-discovery through Megan's guidance. She gave me the space to come to my own conclusions and balanced this with astute and kind observations. To say I highly recommend Megan as a mentor would be an understatement.
Megan’s approach to mentorship not only helped me prepare for the real challenges associated with teaching MBSR classes, but also gave me the confidence needed as a novice teacher. She was dedicated to the fidelity of the MBSR programming without stifling my creativity... Megan was inviting, kind, and compassionate, while still being directive and straightforward with her feedback. Above all, the most incredible thing about working with Megan is that she is a superb model of embodying mindfulness; an inspiration and true mentor. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have trained with Megan.
Is Mentorship Right for You?
Mentorship is best for people who want to grow and more fully embody Mindfulness and Compassion.
Mentorship is Intended to:
Know your experience and self more fully.
Move beyond an intellectual understanding of mindfulness and compassion to practicing formally (meditation) and informally (in daily life).
Strengthen you ability to be curious, understanding, and take appropriate action in the face of challenges.
Deepen your connection with self and other.
One-on-One Personal Mentorship via web-based video conferencing can be a helpful way to begin or sustain your Mindfulness and/or Compassion practice, and is tailored to be supportive for anyone at any stage of their practice.
Professional Mentorship is also seen as a key component of development for new, as well as experienced, teachers of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), providing the intimacy of a close connection as well as the opportunity for open and honest exploration of challenges, breakthroughs, insights and possibilities that inevitably arise in teaching the program.
